WHAT ARE DIGITAL PORTRAITS?
Good question! My digital portraits are not photographs. Nor are they traditional paintings. So what are they? My digital works are created using a combination of software and digital techniques, and include components created by AI (artificial intelligence) software. The AI software creates these components, whether an entire base image or part of an image (such as a head, body, clothing, or background), by generating visual elements based on descriptive prompts. These AI components are then transferred into other digital art software, typically Procreate, where I make further modifications to the AI portion of the image. Additional manipulations and digital compositing are then usually made in Photoshop and other art software applications, including filter and human face manipulation applications. Each image usually takes several hours to several days to complete. Is it art? Well, that’s for you to decide!
